Playa Bruja Mazatlan

11/18/12

Sunday morning we got up bright and early (8 am!) to get ready for our bike ride to brunch.  We met the group of bikers and car riders at the marina office and set off on a three mile ride to Playa Bruja and the restaurant with the 60 peso brunch.  The ride in the morning was fairly easy and cooler than the trip back, and the brunch was really good.  For our 60 pesos, we got a fruit plate, a sugar roll, a giant omelet, coffee and juice!

Crazed bikers at brunch.

We made the trek to this beach a couple of more times by bus.  The sand was super soft, and the water was warm and refreshing.  It is shallow enough to walk out almost to where the surfers are waiting for the waves.

Having a beach bar & restaurant nearby made this a perfect location to spend the day watching the surfers.  Cathy bought herself a beautiful handmade necklace and earring set that a local artist makes.  It is a beautiful stone shaped like a turtle shell and held with waxed twine of different colors that create a beautiful turtle and sea leafs.  She considers this her birthday gift!
