Dinner And A Movie

12/6/2012

Thursday night we met up with some friends from Alameda, Rick and Marilyn on Tortuga, and Mike on Slacker.  They have been cruising this area for over 20 years and know all the great places to go.  We met at the marina gate and hiked up the hill through town to a restaurant on the highway that no ones knows the name of.  Everyone calls it 109 because almost everything on the menu is 109 pesos.  Anyway, it is a very nice restaurant overlooking the bay that serves the most fantastic seafood.  We opted for the daily special which Cathy and I split.  It is amazing what you get here for the price.  Each meal includes soup, salad, main course, two shots of tequila per person, chips and salsa, caramelized plantain desert, and Kahlua and cream drink.  The fish special was amazing.  It was local flat fish covered in red sauce, vegetables, shrimp and cheese, wrapped in a banana leaf and baked in foil.

Happy cruisers!

After dinner we walked back to the marina to enjoy a free outdoor movie in the amphitheater.  The film was Capt. Ron which is always fun to see.  Rick and Marilyn recommended we try their favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, as we were headed there in the morning.
