Happy New Year 2013

1/1/13

Well, we made it through another year of cruising Mexico.  Last night we got together with our friends John and Nicki on Seychelles for a new year's eve feast.  We had gone to the fish market earlier in the day and bought 3 pounds of really big shrimp.  We spent about an hour peeling and cleaning the shrimp before handing them off to chef Nicki, who made a shrimp and Cajun creme sauce dish, with some rice and green beans.  Cathy brought her Jamaican coleslaw and champagne.  It was quite a feast.  Afterward, we walked into town and went to Philo's bar for some live country music and a couple of beers before midnight.  We were having so much fun dancing and listening to the music, that everyone missed actual midnight.  The band finally stopped and did the countdown so we could toot our horns and celebrate.  By the time we got back to the boats, we had missed most of the fireworks.  Oh well, it was a great night with good friends.  Most importantly, we made it back to the boats before it started to pour rain.  It has been raining ever since and it's 2 pm now.

We are fortunate to have friends and family that have made our retirement lifestyle possible.  We want to thank everyone for their help along the way, and wish everyone a very happy and healthy New Year.
