Loreto Fest 2013

5/5/2013

Well, we survived Loreto Fest.  We not only helped with the spaghetti feed, but Rich signed up to be the chairman of the bocce tournament.  Our first task was to build our little bocce stadium on the small beach next to the yacht club.

It turned out pretty well and it seemed everyone liked the relaxed format and rules that Rich created.  There were 16 teams of two that competed over the three day event, and it was nice to be down by the water where the sea breeze kept everything cooler.

Loreto Fest was a lot of fun this year.  We ate a lot of hot dogs, drank a lot of beer, and connected with friends that we hadn’t seen for almost a year.  We continued to get together for music night with Tortuga and Puffin, where we learned a lot of new songs from Rich and Marilyn on Tortuga.

Marilyn was in the orchestra pit playing fiddle.  There were three guitars, a mandolin, and a ukulele in the cockpit
